In what is supposed to be the glory years of retirement, what the hell happened? Pensions that were supposed to carry you, medical services that we supposed to save you, time to stop and smell the roses after a lifetime of work. And instead, many Seniors are deciding between heat and groceries. With a finite number of years left, they wait for surgeries to improve their quality of life. Wait for the pain to end. And the values that they believed in tossed recklessly in the garbage by someone else’s social agenda?
And what seems to make it worse, is these issues are not first on most people’s minds. Main stream media has continuously ignored the plight of Seniors. Politicians and Bureaucrats sure seem to cry for patience for them to find solutions. But the one’s paying the bill are the Seniors.
Oh…and having worked and saved a lifetime, just to leave something behind for the kids – some fool is taxing that, so there’s nothing left. Something has to change!
To this end, one of my personal commitments is to find seniors in our communities to put together in a group to bring forward specific priorities. Issue they are dealing with now. And to hear from them the logical solutions necessary to fix the issue.
