This website is dedicated to the promotion of Leduc resident Kirk Cayer, and his campaign under the United Party of Canada, to be the next Member of Parliament to represent Leduc – Wetaskiwin.

“We believe every Canadian has inherent value and the right to live in freedom, prosperity, and security. Our nation must be led by those who put Canadians first, protecting their rights, freedoms, and way of life. We stand for real, lasting change—defending faith, family, and fundamental liberties. These freedoms must be enshrined in law to ensure that our children and future generations will always remain True North, Strong and Free.”

Based on current feedback from the campaign trail. The following are concerns and asks the the next elected MP for Leduc-Wetaskiwin make efforts on:
Key Issues Collected To-date:
1. Energy and Natural Resources
- Federal policies on oil and gas, including pipelines, carbon taxes, and emissions regulations. Specifically be loud. If there is something going on, let residents know about it. Who is in support, and who are being the obstacles? When can improvements be expected? Green was never mentioned once as a major concern.
- Work with Ottawa and the Province to bring about the abandoned well project for energy generation.
2. Agriculture and Farming
- Federal regulations on fertilizers, emissions, and environmental policies impacting farmers. Get the Federal Government out of the Alberta farming industry micro management.
- Market access for Alberta’s beef, grain, and other agricultural products.
- Support for rural farmers facing droughts, rising input costs, and supply chain disruptions.
- Bring a review on the inheritance tax.
3. Rural Infrastructure and Connectivity
- Expansion of rural broadband and cell service to close the digital divide.
- Investment in roads, bridges, and public transportation for rural communities.
- Federal funding for water and wastewater infrastructure in smaller towns.
4. Cost of Living and Affordability
- Rising fuel costs, carbon pricing, and their impact on rural households and businesses. If you can’t prove an impact from the carbon collection to date, remove it entirely.
- Inflation and the affordability of groceries, housing, and essential goods.
- Federal tax policies affecting small businesses and independent contractors. Policies are limiting the investment in small to medium sized businesses.
5. Healthcare and Rural Services
- Shortages of doctors, nurses, and emergency medical services in rural areas.
- Federal support for rural healthcare infrastructure and telemedicine.
- Mental health and addiction services, particularly in isolated communities.
- Work with the Province to bring forward a robust student loan forgiveness program.
6. Crime and Rural Policing
- Concerns over rural crime, property theft, and response times from law enforcement.
- Eliminate Federal policies on gun control.
- Support for Police funding and back to the basics enforcement.
- Complete review of past laws, eliminate the “Gladue Principle” and the revolving door justice system. Do the crime. Do the time. Be tough on crime – by anyone.
7. Indigenous Relations
- A much varied collection of input. Quite frankly, more input from residents and our own Indigenous Community will need to be brought into the discussion before any targets are set.
8. Small Business and Economic Development
- Work with the Province to bring forward a robust student loan forgiveness program sponsored in whole or part by Ottawa. Create jobs, and incentives to work in rural and smaller municipal centers.
